NGA Artwalk Application

    1. Upload 5 photographs. They must be of recent images (2022-2026) representative of ALL the types of artwork that you intend to show during the ArtWalk
    2.     Please ensure all image files are JPEGs. While the application form may allow other formats to go through, the NGA cannot access them—meaning they won’t be forwarded to the jurors.
    3. JPEG images must be a minimum of 900 pixels on the shortest side. Maximum size 5MB
    4. Each image must show only one piece of artwork. The only exceptions are works that are sold as a set (e.g., a triptych or cream and sugar set). Images that do not follow this guideline will not passed on to be juried.
    5. Images cannot have overt signatures or watermarks as the submissions to the jury are anonymous.

    Please note that images that are overly long or wide do not show well within our jurying format OR on other promotional platforms. If possible, keep images as close to square or 4:5 aspect ratio as possible for best representation. This is a suggestion for your benefit. Not a requirement.
    AI Transparency
    AI is only allowed with significant human authorship and requires disclosure to organizers, jurors and to the public. Artists must accurately identify their use of AI using the provided categories (AI Reference, AI Generated, AI Edited). Misrepresentation or failure to disclose AI use may result in disqualification. Routine adjustments such as exposure, contrast, colour correction, sharpening, or cropping do not apply.  

    AI Reference -  AI was used to create a reference image for the primary subject of the artwork (example: a vehicle, main building, or whole landscape) and then used the reference to paint or draw from. Disclosure is not required for minor objects within the artwork. The ethical concern is about representation of authorship of the main subject.

    AI Generated – The artist provided specific direction to AI to create a concept image that is used as the base of the finished artwork. The final piece reflects significant human authorship, with the artist substantially developing, altering, transforming or adding to the AI-generated image, which remains present (in whole or in part) in the final work. 
     
    AI Edited – The artwork or photograph was created by the artist first. Generative AI tools were then used alter visual elements within that original work. Routine adjustments such as exposure, contrast, colour correction, sharpening, or cropping do not apply.

After hitting "SUBMIT", wait for application to upload (This may take a few minutes depending on the file size.) Please keep an eye on this page. If it doesn't look like anything is happening go back up and check to make sure all areas have been filled out. It will be highlighted in red if you've missed a requirement. Do not do other things on your computer while waiting. If your internet is disrupted while downloading, it will not go through. Large image files will take longer.
